Wetlands Festival Results
Fantastic and Generous Campbell Community:
Huge thanks to everyone who came to the Festival! I hope all had fun despite the thunderstorms and indoor activities. We had a great crowd!
As this is our biggest fundraiser of the year, it was a unqualified success and will net the PTA in the neighborhood of $15,000. This success is the direct result of the tremendous participation of so many in our community. We had a dedicated planning team, wonderful donations for our auctions, a record number of bidders, lots of volunteers at the festival, and generous teachers and staff.
In particular, I would like to publicly thank James Main for organizing the entertainment, Dave Cahill for organizing the food, Marta Guzman for the delicious pupusas, Kathryn Evans Cordon for putting together three great auctions, Nathan Zee for handling the money, the ladies who helped organize all the baskets, silent auction items, and signs for the festival, and everyone who stepped up at the festival to make sure things ran pretty smoothly. Also, huge thanks to Steve Schaible and Jonathan Discount and their bands, plus Bach to Rock and Jumpin Jupiter, for fun entertainment.
As always, thank you to the amazing and dedicated PTA Executive Board team and our amazing teachers and staff. Especially Maureen Nesselrode and Karen Anselmo—who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure we can pull off all of our events, and to the amazing custodial staff who keeps our school healthy and clean for our kids.
On a related note, the last restaurant night at Dogfish Head Alehouse was another success, bringing in over $1500! That more than doubles our goal for restaurant nights for the year. Thank you Jenny Morris for organizing such fun nights this year!
Come to the June 14 PTA meeting to celebrate all our success and preview plans for the coming year.
I have been humbled and privileged to be part of the PTA team for the past 4 years. I hope we have created a legacy that will sustain all Campbell kids into the future. I know with this generous and supportive community, our kids will continue to have an enriching learning experience at our wonderful school.
Everyone give yourselves a pat on the back. You deserve it!

PTA Calendar corrected for early release dates 6/22, 6/23, and 6/24
I have confirmed with Ms. Anselmo that Campbell is NOT following the schedule reflected in the official APS calendar for the last week of school. Here's the correct Campbell schedule (as sent out by Ms. Nesselrode last week):
June 22, 23, and 24 are all Early Release Days for Campbell (the rest of the county only has June 22 and 24 as Early Release Days). We have conferences on June 22 and June 23 in the afternoon.
The easiest way to stay on top of important school dates is to subscribe to the APS and PTA Campbell school calendar.
