Hi all,

I wanted to give a financial update for the full year with my (almost) final report of the school year. First of all, a quick reminder that receipts are due next week (unless you've spoken to me) if you would like to get reimbursed for PTA expenses. I will be at the PTA meeting or you can drop them in the lock box by the front door of the school. Now, onto a summary of the Campbell Elementary School PTA (from a financial perspective). As I look at this list, I am so thankful for all the volunteers who have helped out this year! We've been able to accomplish a lot together!

Campbell PTA financial update as of 9/30

Hi all,

It's time for the monthly budget report in advance of our PTA meeting on Tuesday (as promised). I've attached a budget summary, detail of the PTA expenses and detail of the PTA income through 9/30/2017. Since this is my first update of the school year, I'll offer a few notes about the financials:
  • Budget Summary – This gives a look at our overall finances for the year. The money we started with at the beginning of the year is at the top of the document. You can see the amount in our budget for each category in the first column and the amount we've spent or made so far this year (7/1/2017 – 9/30/2017) in the column right next to it.
  • Expenses – This form breaks out our expenses into more detail. Every time the PTA pays for something, it has to go into a very specific category in our approved budget. Once again, our budgeted amount is in the first column and next to it is the money that we have spent so far this school year in each category. This is where you can find all the detail to back up the summary.
  • Income – This form shows every time the PTA receives money. Our budgeted amount is again in the first column with year to date actuals in the next.
  • Many of the items in our budget are meant to offset each other. For example, you'll see income from spirit wear this month. This does not mean that we are making a lot of money from selling spirit wear. Next month, there will be an offsetting expense when we pay the vendor for the T-shirts.
I'll go into more detail at the meeting but please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about our expenditures or income so far this year.
Thanks,

Jenny Morris

Campbell PTA financial update as of 5/31

Hi all,

It's time once again for the monthly budget report for the Campbell PTA. We've had a big year so far. I've attached the budget summary, income detail and expense detail as of 5/31/2017 for your review. Here are some of the quick highlights which will be discussed more at the PTA meeting on Tuesday:
  • We funded around $25,000 in teacher requests, field trips, speakers, outdoor classroom upgrades, maintenance and more! Nathan will go into more detail at the meeting.
  • Our Major Fundraising goal was $22,500 for the year. We ended up raising $11,500 over that total through the Wetlands Festival, Penny Wars, Fall Pledge Drive, the Fun Run and Square 1 Art.
  • We raised $2,500 from Amazon purchases this year.
  • We raised $899 from Box tops this year.
  • We raised $2,800 from restaurant nights this year
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Thanks!

Campbell PTA financial update as of 4/30

Hi all,

In advance of our PTA meeting on today, I wanted to give a budget update as of 4/30/2017 and let you know the funding requests that we will be voting on at the meeting. Please find our budget, income and expenses as of 4/30 attached. I'll go into more detail at the meeting tonight. Good news: We have not only hit our fundraising goals for the year but have exceeded them by $15,000!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. See you all at the PTA meeting!
Here is a list of the funding requests that we will vote on at the meeting:
Ms. Johnson – Hard Case Pencil Holders for 3rd grade students next year $50.00
Ms. Brown – Various expenses for the musical $112.00
Ms. Brewer – Rug for Classroom (possibly for Ms. Kim as well) $565.00
Ms. Brewer – Plastic Floor Cover for classroom (possibly for Ms. Kim as well) $250.00
Ms. Norwood – As a follow-up to our screen printing work in the art room with our visiting artist, Veronica Barker-Barzel Kelly, I would like to take the third grade classes to visit the Torpedo Factory Art Center to tour the studios, including her space, and to see “Ms. V” give a demonstration using the Torpedo Factory printmaking presses.  She suggested including printing a monoprint on the press using the students’ own stencils created back at Campbell.  This trip would be the perfect tie to their classroom experience, as well as offer an opportunity to see living, working artists in our community. $250.00
Ms. Oviedo – The special education team would like to request Touch Math the 1st grade Basic Program which includes kit 1, 2, and 3. This will be used as a classroom resource to support math instruction for students who are having difficulty mastering the math standards in the strands of number and number sense and computation and estimation from k-2 grades. Some standard addressed include counting and skip counting to 100, basic addition and subtraction, subtraction and addition with regrouping and ungrouping, 3 addend addition, word problem, and counting money. The printed basic program costs $799. The downloadable green edition is also available for about a $180 savings at $619. $619.00
